How to plan A romatic weekend in Paris

Paris

The Seine is a 777-kilometre (483 mi) long river and an important commercial waterway within the Paris Basin in the north of France.
The highlight of my trip was the 1hr sunset boat cruise on the Seine

Tickets can be bought from outside the Eiffel tower for €15 pp

Boats leave every 30minutes

One can pre buy tickets at france info centres and other operators for €10 and the tickets are valid for 3days.

Be sure to not miss the light display on the Eiffel tower on the hour every hour in the evenings.

My suggestion would be to plan your boat cruise around sunset. So 30-60 minutes before sunset would be the perfect time for spectacular sunset views over the Seine

Indulge in Tea at Ladurèe at Champs Elysèes

A trip to Paris should start off with a Sandemans free walking tour (Book online at no fee)

Its a great way to see the highlights of a city and get your bearings. Guides work for tips and always make that extra effort! Ask for advice and listen out to tips for a great experience during your stay.

Meetup point is at Saint Michel Fountain which is directly infront of the metro stop
Stops incl
Notre Dame de Paris (in pic above)
Tuileries Gardens
Assemblée Nationale
The Louvre
Palais Royal

We Discovered Halal French cuisine taken to another level @lesenfantsterriblesparis

Filet de boeuf, beurre maître d'hôtel au noix (pictured) was one of the tastiest steaks I have ever eaten!

They are also famous for their meat falling off the bone lamb shanks.

Dont count calories in Paris as there are patisseries in every corner and @lesenfantsterriblesparis  doesnt disapoint. Dont leave without savouring Le macaron framboise et sa mousseline de litchi or the
Fraisier coco et amandes aux biscuits de Reims which melts in your mouth and dances on your tongue. Toe curling stuff!! For your lets splurge and enjoy a lovely halal french dinner experience in Paris be sure to try @lesenfantsterriblesparis

Amsterdam part 2 Halal food and majestic mosques

Halal food and majestic mosques. Food: When in Amsterdam forget Mcdonalds and Burger king and instead try out the vast range of Dutch food available. From Kibbeling (cubes of hot steaming battered fish which will have your tastebuds singing on a cold winters day) and delicious crispy Frites (legendary french fries smothered with creamy mayonnaise or ketchup served in a cone) which is sure to never let you look at the humble french fry the same way again. Both of these can be found in every corner in central Amsterdam. Halal food options: 🍔🌭🍟 Artisani  was our favourite go to spot for delicious thick patty burgers, the perfect seasoned frites and huge scrumptious hotdogs and tart freshly made strawberry lemonade. Similar in concept and taste to Shake shack. Artisani is located on Kinkerstraat (near to Action/Mcdonalds) 🥐🍳 Simit sarayi   also on Kinkerstraat has large range of Turkish light food options and is a delectable halal breakfast option. 🥘 Piri Reis  gran...

A weekend in Switzerland are what dreams are made of

When planning a holiday in switzerland, do not underestimate the cost of transport. Switzerland has an amazing transport network which is smart, fast, efficient and very very expensive. My advice would be to decide what you want to do, for how long and where you want to go. Once you have established this, choose a pass that suits you. It is worth every penny as single journeys are insanely expensive. Passes usualy include trains, buses, boats and mountain modes of transport like cable cars. As we came for the weekend, We wanted to base ourselves in Luzern and travel around from there. Luzern had a special on the Luzern Tell Pass (free 2 day Tell Pass when you book at certain hotels in Luzern) which gives you transport and access to all the highlights in Central switzerland which works out very well. This pass does not include transport from/to Zurich  to Luzern. (€30 per way pp) My suggestions to see if you staying in Lucerne: MOUNT RIGI, MOUNT TITLIS AND DO THE GOLDEN P...

Amsterdam Part 3: Things to do in Amsterdam and most of them are for FREE!!

Things to do in Amsterdam and most of them are for FREE!! As a "professional tourist" (and wife and cook and cleaner) for 8 months in Amsterdam I loved the fact that there are so many things to do in Amsterdam for free. Not the its free but there is a catch kind that I am use to in Africa..genuinely for FREE. NO STRINGS ATTACHED. Finding an amazing crew of friends who are as free as you are is the first step to enjoying all the below activities. But even if you are alone ...GO! I met my fun friends through these activities and we painted Amsterdam red 😉 Sign up to the Meetup app. Meetups introduces you for free with people who have the same intrests and hobbies as you have. Get togethers, workshops and events are then sent to you depending on your intrests. There are many people in Amsterdam who are looking for jobs or here because of their partners. I met one of my amazing friends at a meet up of ladies in the park. It is daunting to put yourself out there on your o...
